
Tissue engineering and cell-based therapy
arc organised a two day meeting in June 2008 to review its research strategy on the role of cell based therapies and tissue engineering for the management of musculoskeletal disorders.
The 40+ attendees were drawn from recent and current arc grant holders and other key individuals researching in the field.
The meeting reviewed the current state of knowledge in the different aspects of this broad topic and the nature and constraints of ongoing research. The aim of the discussions was to develop a strategy for arc to decide on its priority areas for funding. Please click here to see the full programme.

A small expert group was formed following the meeting who were tasked to take further the discussions and draft a strategy for arc to implement, aiming for the task to be completed by the end of the year.
